Do You Want Me?

How much do you want Me?

As much as parched desert longs for a drop of water?
As much as a lost traveler looks for an inn?
As much as a family wrapped in ice hopes for a spark?
As much as a woman standing alone in a dark square hopes for a friendly light leading her home?
As much as an addict frantically seeking his next hit?

Do you want Me enough to lose all you hold dear – home, family, friends – until you have nothing but the desperate desire to see Me?

Do you really want Me, or not?

I want You more than my next breath, my next sip of water.
I want You more than sleep, success, and knowledge.
I want You more than home, communion and family.
I want You more than anything.

But  fail to live as though this is true.
I look at problems and dwell
I look at work and am consumed
I look at dreams and strive
I look at…
            Everything by You

If I look at You, problems fade
If I look at You, work is secondary
If I look at You, true dreams fill me
If I look at You, I live in You – Your grace, Your love, Your power, Your heart.
If I look at You, I fade and You are glorified.

You touch hearts
You change lives
You whisper love
You consume a world –
            When I look at You.
